Hello everyone! I'm wondering if any of you have assisted established screenwriters or screenwriting coaches remotely before? If so, how did you first build these relationships? Asking this question for people like myself who cannot relocate to L.A. in the near future, but love the work too much to let that stop them.
The answer to your first question is yes. The answer to your second question is that there relationships have evolved over the years are all based on personal interaction. Now I'm retired and don't do that stuff any more. Get out there and mix/mingle with folk at festivals, seminars... in your neighborhood.
Yes, of course. Modern technology makes the world a much smaller place and email and Skype means it no longer matters where people live.

Thank you Kay. I run a remote writing and editing agency, but I do not work with clients in the film industry just yet. I really want to, and it looks like I'll have to show my face in NYC and LA to get started. I've sent you a message about the opportunities you mentioned.
There are lot of writers who will not live in L.A Because the world of film doesn't only exist in Hollywood. The worlds a big place and guess what it makes films too. I would happily employ the services of an L.A based company if they were dedicated to my needs and the industry would work through them. That however the question! . I'd do whatever I could to avoid living permanently in L.A
