Hi Everyone! Comic, Actor, Screenwriter, Adventure Traveler, Nomad. Currently working on my TV series in Merida, Mexico. I don’t live in the US. Lived in LA 9 years. Am a member of Women In Film in LA for 8 years. I have been a famous cartoonist published in the ‘70’s in Santa Fe, and the 80’s in San Francisco underground comics. I am among the first female cartoonists published in the US in underground comics. Have worked in animation in the 80’s at Colossal Pictures. Have exhibited as a painter in Belize, Guatemala and Mexico. I have been doing stand up comedy on and off for 25 years. Love improv. And I do characters. I am a happy solo female traveler always getting younger as the number goes up. Graduated from New Actors Workshop in NYC in 2004. Worked with Mike Nichols, George Morrison, and Paul Sils the 3 founders of our school. It is on Wikipedia. Our school closed in 2010. All 3 founders sadly are gone. Stanley Tucci did scene work with us and liked what I said at graduation and signed my graduation certificate. I was 53 then. I am looking for a producer or production company outside the US with streamer connections for my one hour dramedy TV series I hope to act in. I learn so much being on this site with all of you. I am a very spiritual person, a reikimaster healer and I spend a lot of time with indigenous people traveling, and love other cultures and people. I’m very grateful for all the great people and knowledge and opportunities on here. I wish you all the best successes possible with your career goals! ❤️
Hey, Corrine Petteys! My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage 32. Nice to meet you and welcome to the community! If you'd like to learn more about myself and the Stage32 Team, we have an intro blog: https://www.stage32.com/blog/Meet-the-Stage-32-Team
Wow, what an amazing journey you're on! Oh, and you're a Reiki Master, too?! I learned Reiki before I was a massage therapist for 14 years, so it definitely influenced my practice. Dude, I'd LOVE for you to post in the Animation Lounge! Maybe you could expand on your time in the underground comics scene and how that lead to your work at Colassal Pictures? https://www.stage32.com/lounge/animation Although I'm sure you'd dig the Acting Lounge as well: https://www.stage32.com/lounge/acting
What are you working on now? Or are you open to collaborating on others' projects?
Enjoy exploring the lounges, and don't forget to comment and respond to others’ posts, too! It's the best way to really connect! And, of course, feel free to reach out at any time. Cheers!
Hi Karen!
Thank you so much for reaching out to me!
I’m resting up at a friends house in Maryland for 3 months while continuing to work on my TV series show bible. I live mostly outside the US, but my visa was up in Mexico and I had to come to the US to get vaccinated. And I am now vaccinated thankfully. You have to be a resident in Mexico to be vaccinated and I don’t want to be a resident there.
I have been working on a one hour dramedy TV series, best for a streamer, for a number of years. I’m waiting to connect with producers a friend from Panama City gave my pilot to at a huge arts festival at Avignon, France. Her son is a filmmaker in Paris and her daughter in law is a working actress there. I want my series done in another country. But wherever the universe lands it, is where I will go. Would love it produced in Paris as the French love artists so much.
My work at Colossal Pictures in San Francisco in the 80’s came from me contacting them and they already knowing about me as a cartoonist as I was sort of famous. So I was hired after duplicating a colored pencil drawing of a cel for a commercial they were working on. I worked there on and off for about two years.
I am quite exhausted so my show is all I can handle now. I want to act in my own show!
I will be around here on and off! I do a lot of webinars. I have industry connections, so I never pay to have my pilot read. I’m a member of Women In Film for 8 years in LA, and have connected with Women In Film and Video in Washington, DC in 2019. So I hope to connect with them again while here and hopefully do some stand up too!
Enjoy your summer!
All the best,
Corrine Petteys
