I don't develop story ideas on my own anymore. Of my 2 polished professional scripts: the first I worked with the late Blake Snyder on a pilot for a children's animated TV series, Motorworld, and recently I completed a screenplay, American Triangle, working with my son, Alexander, who is an incredible story editor. I'm good at thinking up ideas and writing but not good at choosing projects, raising the stakes and structuring stories. I'm hoping to have a long fruitful writing relationship with my son.
That's wonderful that you get to share your passion with your son. I am also collaborating with my daughter on a story idea she had and it's a lot of fun. Best of luck with your story!
