Distribution : Prime took my video out of "free" tier? by Mike Boas

Prime took my video out of "free" tier?

I have a short film that has been free for Prime viewing, plus rent/buy for non Prime members for some time. I logged into my dashboard the other day and under the availability tab, it shows Prime viewing is “no longer available”. It looks like they changed a policy without telling me? I’ll have to go back through emails to see if I missed something.

Upshot: I’m making more money on rentals than I was making before on prime streams.

Downside: I’m getting some bad reviews from those who didn’t understand what they're paying for.

My current solution is to adjust the description of the film to clarify that it’s a 6 minute short with extras, not a 32 minute short. Some negative comments were regarding the ratio of content to bonus features. :)

I see Amazon as “the devil you know”. Yes, they change their terms often, but the usually let me know. I was just wondering if others have seen this happen and did I miss a policy update.
