Introduce Yourself : New start- Director of Speak Life Productions by Garnet Lawrence

Hi all, my name is Garnet Osse Lawrence and I am a playwright, screenwriter, director, actor and everything in between from the beautiful twin island nation of Trinidad and Tobago.

I am a Christian and so my work has been heavily social conscious, dealing with relevant topics like gender based violence, teenage pregnancy, crime and violence in plays both in schools where I taught for 15 years and in church.

As a teacher, I produced two films that were featured in the Trinidad and Tobago Film Festival and I recently won the Faith in Film Screenwriting Competition with a screenplay I wrote called, "Conviction."

I am passionate about using my craft, whether on stage or on film to bring light to dark places and help people see themselves so they could fix themselves.

That's me and my hope is to take my twin island nation to the world and bring heavy hitting cathartic work to the world.
