Hi guys, I’ve been caught up in my original scripts of a feature film and a TV pilot at my screenwriting certificate in the past months, and that’s why I haven’t posted anything here. But would love to hear from your advices about how an emerging international student, using English as her second language, to get a OPT job that’s relevant to my study. Meanwhile I can keep writing and getting progress before my one-year OPT expires. Much appreciate!

Would you please let us know what "OPT job" is? I'm at a loss.

I believe Lola is referring to a Optional Practical Training job? But I could be wrong. I don't have experience as an international student but when I was job hunting, working as a temp (doing temporary assistant work) was a great way to bring in income and have a somewhat flexible schedule while also writing - AND because I was in LA I could temp at entertainment companies which was great for networking. Hope this helps!

Lindbergh Hollingsworth Sorry I didn't clarify the OPT. Yes, as Emily replied, it's Optional Practical Training which is a limited period given to international student to work in the US under F1 student visa.
