For those who have written Horror features: Did you kill off your "Final Girls"? Why? Why not? Please share.

I can't be the ONLY one to kill off my precious Final Girl-- Lisa Martinez, on page 99, the LAST page of HORROR-FEST. No way! There MUST be other bold souls out there!  Would love to hear your horror stories regarding your works. Does YOUR girl survive simply because it's a good business decision? Are you "playing it safe" with her survival?  Are you enthralled by Sequel City? Do you subscribe to the "Well, it's ALWAYS been done that way." mentality? Batter up. Swing for the fences. Let me know. For your reading and viewing pleasure, I've also attached "The Deep Examination of the Final Girl Trope."

Most of my Horror feature scripts have Final Girls and Final Boys because it's best for the stories, Bill Brock. But if I wrote a script and the Final Girl or Boy had to go, I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Bill Brock

Maurice Vaughan OMG, MAURICE! I had NO IDEA YOU WERE SO EVIL!!!! Meh, it's always the nice ones you have to look out for. : )

Roberto Dragonne

Currently I'm working on a horror script in which the Final Girl must die. It is about a curse and, you know, she can't stop it.

Maurice Vaughan

Haha "Meh, it's always the nice ones you have to look out for." There might be a script idea there, Bill Brock.

Bill Brock

Roberto Dragonne Bravo, Roberto! Is it your first horror script? This one was mine!

Bill Brock

Maurice Vaughan Nah. I'm taking a well-deserved break after killing all those victims.

Roberto Dragonne

Bill Brock No, it's my second horror script. The first one is a great challenge, enjoy it!

Pat Alexander
