The Introduction of man who hates creating headlines and titles so you get this. You’re welcome. Oh, I’ll call it Chris’s Introduction. Yeahhh.

Hello,

I’m Chris, and I’m an aspiring screenwriter whose only weakness is writing. I would say I’m more of a storyteller learning to write.

So you understand where I started. a few years ago when having someone comment of a screenplay I’ve written, they said at one point I could use more adjectives. Well I had to look up what an adjective was.

That’s me in a nutshell . I charge head first and learn as I go. I crated this account maybe a year ago, but I’m only now trying to utilize it.

I love story’s and storytelling, and though I’ve had many hobbies I keep finding myself drawn back to this, and while a younger me said the risk was to great to even try, me now doesn’t care if I fail.

I want to be a good writer, that’s why I’m here. to learn. I’m also interested in all aspects of film and television. So if you want to reach out and talk writing or anything else feel free to.

While I created this to help me improve and see where I can go, at the end of the day if I help someone else or teach someone something it will be a worthwhile endeavor.

To end I think my first attempt at writing this went much better, but I went to answer a message and came back to everything being erased so you get the thrown together version. Sorry.

Great to meet you, Chris Jolley. I like the title! Here's a blog for up-and-coming screenwriters I suggest checking out: www.stage32.com/blog/the-questions-up-and-coming-screenwriters-need-to-a...

Stage 32 has a lot of screenwriting resources and resources for filmmaking and TV. You can find them at the top of the platform where it says "Home," "Profile," "Browse," and so on.

I suggest adding a profile picture and a detailed bio to your profile. People will feel more comfortable networking and collaborating with you if they know what you look like. And if you have a picture, your profile will show up when someone searches for you. A detailed bio will help you build relationships/network on here. You could add things to your bio like why you became a screenwriter, your accomplishments, your goals, and what movies and shows you like.

Chris Jolley

Maurice,

Thank you for reaching out, and thanks for the advise. I will check out the blog.

On the front of a bio (which to me is like creating a long title.) it seems that either I cannot work this app, or I don’t see where I can add it, so I think I will have to go to the desktop.

If it isn’t obvious I am not one who would be considered a “social media user” seeings as I have not interacted with more people on here than I have on any other platform not named MySpace.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Chris Jolley. Yeah, I think you'll have to add your bio on a desktop. Let me know if that works.

You mentioned on another post that you grew up on the NC/VA line. I grew up in NC and VA (and DE). My hometown is Woodland, NC. It's not far from the NC/VA line.

I remember Myspace! I used to network on there. I wasn't a social media user, but I started using social media more, and it got easier. If you want any tips on using social media or networking, let me know.

Chris Jolley

Maurice,

I will go on and try on my computer. does the desktop version offer more than the mobile?

Yes, though I’m not familiar with Woodland. I assume it’s more coastal? I was closer to the middle of the state north of Greensboro.

Thank you for offering to help, if I run into issues I will be sure to reach out.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Chris Jolley. Yeah, the desktop offers more than the mobile. I mainly use the desktop version, but the phone app is convenient when I'm away from the computer or on the go.

Greensboro is about 3 hours from Woodland. Woodland is a really small town. It's in the northeastern part of the state. Woodland isn't that far from Greenville and Roanoke Rapids.

Yeah, if you have any issues or questions about Stage 32, let me or another Lounge Moderator know. We have badges on our pictures. Or email support@stage32.com.
