Hello Stage 32!
I have just completed a sceenplay for a fully original animated miniseries that has taken me 25 years of love & patience to write: 'WHITE LIGHT STORY' - A Story of Family, True Love, Life, Death, Martial Arts, Free Will, & Destiny.
I'm so excited I had them printed as a set of physical scripts.
**Curious to hear what people's thoughts are on how AI may be making it suddenly possible to have original animated projects like this made? I'm seeing some amazing things lately. Costs could be slashed. Teams could be a small handful of talent. Grunt work done in minutes by AI. I'm actually attempting to create an AI scene for one of the chapters as a test...
Anyways I'm super excited about the future of original animation, and feel that the timing of completing this project might just be perfect..! I graduated from Classical Animation school way before anyone could have conceived of AI, and back then it seemed an impossible dream to ever get the funding to make what I had in my mind/heart. And yet I went for it anyways, lol But now all of a sudden everything is different, the game is changing.
Are we on the cusp of an Animation Revolution ?? Looking for anyone with similar ideas of how to approach making original animated content.
Also offering to share any personal insights into writing a project of this scale/time. Many have stories that are inside them, but feel just way too big to ever complete. I felt this way many times, often even scared to die without completing it. But eventually, with patience, hard work and faith, it can get done. Don't give up!!
Thanks! Any feedback or interest in this project would be most appreciated. Looking forward to more discussions here in the Animation Lounge.

Trevor Gustafson this post is such a powerful mix of passion, perseverance, and curiosity. Congrats on completing WHITE LIGHT STORY after 25 years of dedication! That’s no small feat, and the fact that you had the scripts physically printed speaks volumes about how personal and meaningful this project is.
And thank you for offering to share your insights from working on such a long-term project. That kind of endurance is incredibly inspiring, especially for creators who feel overwhelmed by the scope of their ideas. I hope you’ll keep posting updates here in the Animation Lounge—we need voices like yours contributing to these conversations

Trevor Gustafson Your dedication to White Light Story is seriously inspiring! Spending 25 years crafting a fully original animated miniseries is no small feat, and it’s amazing to see your passion pay off. AI is definitely shaking things up in animation—making it more accessible for indie creators to bring big visions to life. While it can speed up certain processes, I still think the heart of great animation comes from the human touch—storytelling, emotion, and artistry.
Curious to hear more about your AI test scene—how’s that going?

Thanks Cyrus
I am finding that putting in accurate storyboards works really well with AI to gain more control of the random prompting results. Most AI softwares you can input a drawing along with the prompts, and can even scale how accurately or creatively you want it to stray. It works amazing.
So at this point I am creating a traditional storyboard animatic with key frames/poses, and some character design models I can also plug into the AI.
Playing with AI on the side so when I have the animatic done, I have a better idea how exactly to go about translating it into the animated look I'm aiming for.
So many possibilities..! But in the end I think people will only AI skills will hit many walls. The folks with deeper experience and skills will still be essential for making anything of quality.
Good luck to us all! :D
