Kid Focused Film Festival

Hey Everyone, I just wanted to stop by and talk a little about this idea I had and I'm working to implement. While searching for film festivals that focused on content for kids, I notice there were not many. So after submitting my project to many and making good progress, I thought... ok what if I tried to solve an issue with creating a festival? So I did. It's been live on Film Freeway for about a day. I can say I'm nervous but I really want to make this a festival to celebrate content made for kids, family friendly and include young filmmakers. If you know of anyone who may be interested in helping, submitting, or even giving advice (please no discouraging as i'm already nervous about doing something I haven't done before...) please do contact me! here's the link on Film Freeway https://filmfreeway.com/BrightMindsFilmFestival

Hey, Tawanna Cullen. Congratulations on starting your own film festival! It sounds incredible! I really like the name and logo! What type of advice are you looking for from the community?

Tawanna Cullen

Thank you so much Maurice! I'm closest to the Los Angeles area. I would love to know of great venues to hold the end of the year Festival, any advice on planning the end of the year event. Tips, do's don'ts etc. I would love to hear what people love and dislike with the festivals. I certainly don't want to repeat unsuccessful things that make the event a bad experience for attendees.

Congrats. There are in The Netherlands, though. It's called https://cinekid.nl/en, so maybe you can check out how they do it. I started my book festival. It is scary, but when you have a few good partners by your side, it'll work. I think with film festivals, the prizes are what attract people, but also the guests and if you have good judging and viewings. I will check it out. I have a few animation screenplays lingering around.

Raymond Zachariasse

Oh, my virusscanner goes haywire on your URL, so maybe check that out.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Tawanna Cullen. I hope you get the advice you're looking for and a lot of creatives submit to your festival!

Tawanna Cullen

Maurice Vaughan Thank you, I hope so too. I can't say the entertainment community has been a very uplifting experience. Super competitive and some what disappointing.

Tawanna Cullen

Raymond Zachariasse I doubt film freeway has a virus. The festival website is a google site is new and doesn't have a virus. Those are pretty unattractive for hackers. Please check your settings. My site is virus free. Thanks for the link to the festivals in The Netherlands.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Tawanna Cullen. The entertainment community is super competitive and somewhat disappointing at times, but keep making connections and promoting your festival. It's a wonderful festival I think the entertainment community needs.

Tawanna Cullen

Maurice Vaughan Thank you so much! I will keep making connections. I can say I can do with a "how to network for introverts" class lol! I really appreciate it! I love when people support one another in what ever stage they are in. There is room for everyone, we are all so creative and it's such an important aspect of our lives. Can't imagine a life without creativity in any of the arts!

Raymond Zachariasse

Tawanna Cullen no I mean your site. It doesn't have a virus, but the connection is not secured.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Tawanna Cullen. "I can say I can do with a "how to network for introverts" class." Well, guess what? Stage 32 has a webinar called "How to Network Online and in Virtual Settings as an Introvert" (www.stage32.com/education/products/how-to-network-online-and-in-virtual-...).

Tawanna Cullen

Maurice Vaughan Ooh! lol That's right on! I've added it to my cart and another one as well. Thank you!

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Tawanna Cullen. Looking forward to hearing what you think of the webinars. I've taken a lot of webinars on Stage 32, and they've all been helpful.

Tawanna Cullen

Raymond Zachariasse Oh when you said, "virusscanner goes haywire on your URL" I assumed you meant it was a virus. Google sites automatically has SSL enabled and Cloudflare is protecting it. Not sure what you are seeing on your end. I ran the site url on a few security check sites and there are no issues. It's always had an https:// - no virus, ssl enabled, cloudflare protection, we are good!

Tawanna Cullen

Maurice Vaughan I'm excited to see how much is offered!
