This article lays out the production of Skibidi Toilet by Michael Bay. I think the model of independently creating content and building an audience to attract big players is the way to go for many indie producers.

I thought this was a joke when I first heard about it, Bob Harper. And for some reason, I thought it was live-action. I guess because of Michael Bay. I think animation is the right choice. I agree with you. I think that's the way to go for many indie producers. What studio or company would ignore/turn down a short film that has 250MM views (or anywhere near that number)?

I can’t imagine what this will be, but those are some big names, including one of my heroes Rob Legato.
The premise of the YouTube series is incredibly stupid on the face of it, but if you watch a half dozen episodes, you might be surprised how engaging it is.

Bob Harper, It’s always interesting how something that seems silly at first can gain huge popularity when it resonates with an audience. For many indie creators, it’s a good reminder not to wait for the perfect moment or approval. Just share the work. If it connects, the audience will respond.

Whether or not Skibidi Toilet is your taste, the strategy behind it is undeniably smart: build something original, find your audience, and let the demand speak for itself. The fact that this kind of offbeat, independently grown IP is now catching the attention of someone like Michael Bay says a lot about the shifting power dynamics in content creation. Indie producers have more leverage than ever if they can tap into a niche and prove the concept.
