Majiduh Brightman here, a screenwriter and film maker in development. Over the past few months, I’ve been immersing myself in learning, relearning, and even unlearning everything I can about screenwriting and filmmaking. Along the way, I’ve experimented with different genres -sometimes not knowing exactly what I’m doing right or wrong but always with the curiosity to grow and the belief that if I stay committed, I can write in any genre.
Right now, I’m at a point where I’m actively seeking collaborators-storytellers, directors, producers, editors-who can help bring out the best in me creatively. People I can learn with and build alongside. My ultimate goal is to create stories that are bold, emotionally resonant, and globally relevant.
One story concept currently pulling at me is a cross-cultural reimagining of Pretty Woman. It’s a direction I’m excited to explore, blending romance, drama, and social commentary across cultures. I think having a co-writer on this would be interesting and a great way to learn about each other's cultures as creatives and a great way to bridge a little gap in co- productions - I don't know but I’m still figuring out which genre I truly belong to-but maybe that’s part of the journey. And I’d love to walk it with people who are equally passionate, curious, and open to discovery.
