Hello Stage 32ers. I have been writing screenplays for awhile now. I've done well on contests, coverage have been good and I have had a couple of script requests following written pitches on Stage 32. The problem I have, is doing live pitches. I am not good in a room. I can talk about my work one on one but I get anxious when say doing a zoom pitch - stage fright, no confidence or something I can't get past. Any advice?

Hi Philip Naiman, Ashley here, I’m the Head of Community at Stage 32. Thank you for being so honest about this, because you’re definitely not alone. So many talented writers struggle with live pitching, it’s a skill that requires just as much practice (and grace for yourself) as the writing itself.
One thing I’d suggest is jumping into this week’s July Filmmakers Club challenge, which is all about pitching. There’s a great blog with tips, and this week’s challenge encourages you to reflect on a past pitch experience, ask a question in the Lounge, and draft your 2-page written pitch. It’s a safe way to start flexing that pitching muscle and get supportive feedback from others who’ve been there. Here’s the link if you want to join in: https://www.stage32.com/blog/july-filmmakers-club-week-4-lets-talk-about...
You might also check out our pitch resources or consult with an executive through our script services, they’re often incredibly encouraging and can help you practice your delivery with constructive feedback in a lower-pressure setting. You can learn more by emailing our Success Team at Success@Stage32.com.
