That's interesting Aaron Marcus I have never edited an audition. I record until I'm satisfied with the take. I thought that was the point of self tape, like a live audition but you get do overs. Why would someone need to edit self tape audition? Please share some of the reasons you edit a self tape.

Aaron Marcus

When you record an audition, it takes a second to hit the record button both at the beginning and the end. You only want the casting director to see the actual audition, not the second before you begin or after it is over. Those are the only 2 parts of the audition I edit.

Aaron Marcus thanks so much for this video. I remember you had talked about doing somethign like this a while back. it is very helpful as I start to think about doing some self-tapes and anticipate finding the technical side of it frustrating. I will come back to this video again when I do.

Hi Alexandra, yes, I was thinking about sharing this information for a little while. Whenever you are ready to learn about editing, it will still be on my channel. Hope you are well.

Suzanne Bronson

Ahhhhhh. Aaron Marcus well now I feel dumb.

Aaron Marcus

You shouldn't. It was a very good question. I have seen some very talented actors who do not make those short edits. They just didn't know. Really glad you asked.
