Adding mystery to your story

Dear friends, since some members write mystery, or would like to write mystery, I have an offer for you. Feel free to ask me for help if you need something mysterious to your story.

When I am not busy as a filmmaker (or playwright), I am instead busy as a scientist. So I often work with mysteries. As a scientist I also know some facts which most other people don't know about.

A week ago in the public library I found the Swedish translation of G.T. Karber, Murdle. I mean the first one of his books with logic puzzles related to murders. Some of you have probably seen this bestseller. This is a kind of mystery I can create for you. And as I mentioned in an earlier posting, I have sometimes created the kind of puzzle where digits have been replaced with letters.

Yalla Bava

That's a great offer. Any specific sector in science and what about mythology?

Göran Johansson

Nice that you liked my offer. I easily create mathematical problems. My research field is ancient astronomical phenomena, which means that I also know ancient history. And has been forced to learn some geophysics. Largely my research is related to the astrological ideas attributed to Hermes Trismegistus. So I also knows about ancient mythology. I also know Asatru, the form of paganism once popular in my part of Europe.

Yalla Bava

Wow, the emerald tablets are actually one of my favorite ancient writings and even included an inspired metaphor of it on my profile bio:). I'm from Germany, based in Spain and interested in european and oriental history but havnt dealt with a lot germanistic and paganism yet and have to read into asatru. I really like early 20th and 17th century history and I'm writing on a WW2 script about a combat between germans in the very last phase of Berlins fall.

Have you seen "as above so below", it's a nice initial low budget horror movie, that turned out to be a success. They smartly combined Dantes inferno and ancient mythology.

Your budget description in your bio sounds stunnishing. Sweden has some great movies by the way

Donovan Cage

I'm writing a new pilot that's a part of a franchise I've developed. The structure is based around Nordi Noir. Mystery will be a key element of the pilot. We should connect!

Göran Johansson

Dear Yalla, I know that "as above so below" is a Hermetic expression, but I have not seen the movie with that title. When it comes to my budget I can only say that one quickly gets used to working with almost no money at all.

Dear Donovan, nice that you like Nordic noir. And when it comes to connecting, I am here.

Yalla Bava

Göran Johansson I think there are a lot of possibilities with low budget nowadays

Original "insomnia" was last scandinavian noir that I watched. Nice movie
