Success Stories: OCT'31 Script Request

Patrick Koepke

Script Request

It's funny how life works sometimes. Just yesterday, I almost posted in the Anything Goes forum about feeling a bit down over my lack of momentum. I'd had several “not selected” results in a row from festivals and competitions. I’m usually tenacious and persistent, the real-world equivalent of a bulldog clamped onto the keister of a cartoon character, but yesterday I was out of gas.

Then today, I got the outcome of one of my exec pitches and scored my highest average so far (4.14)... and it was a script request! I needed that win, but more than that, it reminded me to keep moving forward, keep my bulldog jaws locked on my goals, and most importantly… keep writing and pitching.

Thanks everyone! I have another pitch result a week from today for a different project, so I'm hoping it's two for two.

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Patrick Koepke. Hope the pitch goes great and you get another request!

Thanks Maurice Vaughan - I'm in uncharted (for me) territory. This is my third script request but the other two earlier ones ended in passes, so I'll be interested to see if this one break through to the next level.

I will say to anyone considering pitching, the feedback on all my pitches (pass or request) have been thorough, actionable, and meaningful and well worth the time/cost to pitch. Like many of you, I'm connected to other networks as well (InkTip, ISA, etc.) but Stage 32 is my preferred platform for all of this.
