I have a friend visiting me for a week from England for her very first ever American Thanksgiving, and we wanted to plan one night of staying in and cooking/watching films. For some reason I can only think of Halloween and Christmas movies-do you know of any good tgiving ones? LMK in the comments what they are and why you like em

Hi, Brittany Christine. It's been a long time since I watched it, but Free Birds. It's funny. And I just found out about National Lampoon's Thanksgiving Family Reunion.

I'm not sure about Thanksgiving but I do know of a New Year's movie that's pretty good! Lol!
Seriously though, "Always be my Maybe" is HILARIOUS if you're looking for comedies. If you're looking for a good old fashioned serial killer, "Thanksgiving" is ok too. Both are on Netflix.

The only one I've seen on Netflix in recent months is the 2023 movie "Thanksgiving" and that's more of a horror/slasher movie. I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the Halloween or Saw movies. I don't know any comedies or dramas that are Thanksgiving themed.

Hi Brittany. If there have been more Thanksgiving themed movies, I haven't heard of them. In Canada, we have Thanksgiving in October and I'm surprised there haven't been more Thanksgiving themed Canadian movies made. It's definitely a forgotten market, as you said.

Maurice, I never knew there was a National Lampoon's Thanksgiving Family Reunion movie. My parents and I love the National Lampoon movie series! Will definitely check to see if I can find that to watch.

I will be adding THANKSGIVING to my list. Yes, I am surprised there aren't some Hallmark Thanksgiving movies. The one I watched on Thanksgiving a couple of years ago is called PILGRIM. Horror/slasher movie on Hulu. These first Thanksgiving reenactors come to a family's dinner. And welp- let's just say, it's not the turkey that gets carved.

Brittany Christine Hello!! OMG how long have you got, lol: "Home for the Holidays", early Robert Downy JR; "Miracle on 34th Street", classic Thanksgiving Day Parade; "It's a Wonderful Life", tears; "a funny one, "Holiday in Handcuffs", if you can find it, with Melissa Joan Hart and Mario Lopez, hilarious! ; "The Family Man", with Nicholas Cage and Tea Leoni, it's fantastic. So, so many more, but these are great finds. Hope it helps, and have a blast with your friends!

When I think of American Thanksgiving, I think of football, but as someone who loves thrillers and K-Dramas, I can't recommend the series The Glory on Netflix enough, Brittany Christine.

Ashley Renee Smith I haven't seen stuck in love but just watched the trailer and excited to check it out! and OMG I forgot all about Son in Law, I'm gonna see if it was a a classic in England like it was here and introduce it to my friend Kate to it when she arrives tomorrow. Adams Family anything are always sooo entertaining, i should do a marathon of them one wknd! Chicken Run is cute, and definitely checking out the oath now, I've had a couple girlfriends that work in the industry tell me I remind them of Tiffany Haddish personality wise so I need to watch more of her acting to see what they mean, GREAT recs TY!
