Hello everybody. My name is Stuart Michael Thomas. I’m a composer here in LA with 20+ years experience on a wide array of projects from indies to studio blockbusters. Most of my career has been as a hired gun doing additional music from The Hunger Games, Iron Man 3 and Avengers: Age Of Ultron to some Fast and Furious films, Top Gun: Maverick and Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning with Lorne Balfe and his insanely talented team. Most recently Lorne and I co-composed the boxing thriller The Cut (Orlando Bloom, John Turturro, Caitriona Balfe) which was directed by Sean Ellis (stellar filmmaker). I’m interested in connecting with emerging filmmakers who are writing and directing bold, imaginative work. I know Hollywood is in a crisis right now, but I also know there are still filmmakers out there pushing the craft forward. I’d love to meet the ones keeping this art form alive.

Welcome back, Stuart Michael Thomas. Hope you're doing great! Congratulations on co-composing The Cut and all the films! I still need to check out Top Gun: Maverick. I want to rewatch Top Gun first since it's been so long since I watched it. What's one of your favorite things about composing?
Maurice Vaughan the best part of composing is that goosebump moment when what you’re doing actually elevates the scene. Sometimes it’s by design, sometimes there a happy accident but when it works, it’s amazing.
