Introduce Yourself : New to screenwriting by Anthony Yorba

Anthony Yorba

New to screenwriting

Introducing myself:

Hi everyone — I’m Anthony Yorba. I’m an author, music producer, and developing screenwriter. I recently finished my first book, which is now moving through the publishing process, and I’m steadily building my writing skills and creative workflow.

Outside of writing, I also run a small YouTube channel where I post racecar content and instructional videos — mostly hands-on projects, motorsports, and the things I’ve learned along the way.

One thing that really drives me in storytelling is attention to detail. I’m the kind of viewer who notices when a movie calls out the wrong car part or breaks continuity in a small but obvious way — like referencing a carburetor on a fuel-injected engine. Those little details can pull an audience out of the moment, and I take pride in making sure my work stays grounded, consistent, and respectful of the world it’s set in.

By day I work full-time at Tesla (the 12-hour shifts keep me busy), but storytelling and creating music are what keep me energized. I’m here to learn, grow, and connect with other creatives.

I’m excited to be part of this community, and I’m always open to conversation — whether it’s advice, collaboration, or just getting to know fellow artists. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Hi, Anthony Yorba. Welcome to the community. Stage 32 has a blog that'll help you navigate the platform and connect with creatives and industry professionals all over the world. www.stage32.com/blog/how-to-successfully-navigate-the-stage-32-platform-...

Stage 32's November Community Open House was yesterday that'll help you navigate Stage 32 and connect with creatives and industry pros. The recording will be up soon. It's free to watch. www.stage32.com/education/products/stage-32-s-november-community-open-ho...

I suggest adding a profile picture of yourself and a detailed bio to your profile. People will feel more comfortable networking and collaborating with you if they know what you look like. And if you have a picture, your profile will show up when someone searches for you. A detailed bio will help you build relationships/network on here. You could add things to your bio like why you became an author/music producer/screenwriter, your accomplishments, your goals, and what movies, shows, and music you like.

You can upload a picture by clicking the gear symbol in the top right-hand corner and selecting “Edit profile” in the drop-down menu, then clicking the red button underneath your location and choosing "Update profile picture."

Congratulations on finishing your first book! What's it about?

Thank you very much for the warm welcome! I appreciate the links/info!

I'll give a quick run down. I don't want to paraphrase the proposed back cover yet.

"Heaven Ain't Far, Hell Ain't Either" is a western-noir thriller following Elias, a 28-year-old man attempting to escape a life few survive. The story opens with Elias and his best friend and girlfriend, Mara (26), relocating to a new town seeking a fresh start. Three years have passed since Elias last ran a job—he worked as a transporter, moving cargo and taking orders he learned not to question. But eventually, his debt comes due. When Elias kills a handler in self-defense, he knows he has no choice but to run. His checkered past and the ambiguous circumstances surrounding the death mean the police and courts won't look favorably on his case—self-defense or not, a man is dead. What he doesn't realize is that he's now running from a network far larger and more dangerous than he ever imagined. Elias loses everything. Stripped down to nothing, he reaches a breaking point that forces a revelation—one that leads to self-discovery and new information that could allow him to build a new life. Not his old life, but any life is better than death.

I have produced a 21 song soundtrack that follows each chapter of the book and I even included music for small scenes when you hear a radio play in the background.

And it is this that I am writing a script for!
