Introduce Yourself : Richard Lord Seely, Author by Richard Seely

Richard Lord Seely, Author

Hello world! I'm excited to adapt my novel "Toward the Sun" into a feature length film. I draw the inspiration for the film from my experiences living in Spain and working as a construction manager for a residential builder where I've made many immigrant friends from all over the world. The story begins as Spain’s dictatorship collapses, the son of a disgraced general flees across continents—from the ashes of Franco’s empire to the streets of Mexico City and the hidden world of immigrant labor in America.

Toward the Sun is a cinematic journey of exile, loyalty, and redemption.

i love recent historical dramas. can be expensive to film though. one that i had some small connection with, a biopic of James Brooke, the White Rajah of Sarawak—which starred Jonathan Rhys Meyers, but went straight to video—was forced by budgetary constraints to be very careful in framing shots and also shooting mostly with indoor sets, or in the Bornean rainforest. unfortunately IMO it ended up looking like a flat telemovie. anyway—just sharing… best of luck!

Thanks James! Will still have to check it out.
