Just wrapped Kyoto Prize docs and Tohoku Revival promo. I make fiction with heart, docs with weight. Open to meaningful projects. Tokyo-based, global reach. Let's connect.
Stage 32's next Community Open House is Dec 29th (www.stage32.com/education/products/stage-32-s-december-community-open-ho...). It's free to attend. It'll also help you navigate Stage 32 and connect with creatives and industry pros. Even if you can’t make it to the Open House, sign up and you’ll get the recording in your Stage 32 Education Library when it’s available.
It is such an honor to meet you Yusuke Hayamizu and glad you're with us on Stage 32. I am curious as to what festival you are a director of. Last week, I was honored as the winner of best screenplay concept in the Tokyo Film & Screenplay Awards for a children's animated screenplay called, "Agents of C.O.W." It was a really nice surprise.
I would love to learn more about you and what projects you are working on. Again, we're glad you are with us.
Yusuke Hayamizu Welcome Yusuke! Amazing, all the way out there, so cool to meet you. Kyoto looks so beautiful. I've always wanted to work in films shot in Tokyo, especially after "Lost in Translation", one of my favorite movies, set there. There is a beauty, a depth to it, that just fascinates me.
Hi Yuauke, & welcome. I'm Australian & have completed a fictional screenplay, Ballet of the Birds, which has had valuable feedback from competitions, including a couple of awards. It's heartfelt,, even a bit poetic here & there, with mythical gods (hence is 'fantasy) guiding the protagonist, Gina as she emerges from victim situations into a world of creative openings. I am not attracting enthusiastic acclaim from pitch readers who say It's not sufficiently punchy or pragmatic for the market. Yes, I would like to connect with anyone who can help me further.
Leonardo Ramirez Thank you for the comment! We're finalizing next season's dates—should open submissions in February. Keep an eye on jwff.jp (Japan World Film Festival)
Juliana Philippi Thanks Juliana! Love the cinematography in Lost in Translation—the neon, the hush—real mood. Just wish it didn't lean so hard on stereotypes. Still, if you're into Tokyo sets, let's shoot something fresh—no clichés, all soul.
Hi Yusuke Hayamizu I’ll be visiting Japan next year with my co-owner, and I’d love to get connected and learn more about what you do and how we could possibly work together. I’m an audio engineer and co-owner of an animation and post-production company based in the United States. Your work on the Kyoto Prize docs and Tohoku Revival promo sounds incredible—fiction with heart and docs with weight is exactly the kind of meaningful projects I’m drawn to. Excited to connect and explore potential collaboration!
