Introduce Yourself : Let's Make Some Magic in 2026! by Alison Weaverdyck

Alison Weaverdyck

Let's Make Some Magic in 2026!

I'm a MI-based screenwriter who tells scifi, fantasy, and horror stories about morally gray women, found families, and myths gone rogue. I published prose under a different name for about a decade, but when I tried screenwriting for the first time during Covid lockdowns, it was "love at first fade in." I have 3 pilots and 3 features locked and loaded after returning from living abroad. So right now I am looking for representation and opportunities to collaborate with filmmakers. I'm also submitting to film festivals a lot this year so I get a chance to network again after such an amazing first experience as an official selection at HorrOrigins 2025. Maybe we can connect 'out in the wild' too :)

Hope you have a creative start to the new year!

I keep getting surprised as to how many creator's lives changed during Covid Alison Weaverdyck. I caught a really bad version of it early on and wrote my first screenplay when I couldn't get up from my sick bed. Have loved it ever since and never looked back. Great to meet you and so glad you're with us!

,Alison Weaverdyck , trust it is moving smoothly?

Leonardo Ramirez it's amazing how our brains reach for creativity in times of trouble. My first novel came pouring out of me during a quarterlife crisis/long recovery surgery. So I guess it isn't that surprising that when the world seemed to be on fire, people found solace and purpose in art in a new way :)

Leonardo Ramirez

It is Alison Weaverdyck. Surgery recoveries are really tough as well. I went through that back in '16. But you're right, we found both solace and a redirection.
