Hello from Spain! | Developing Retro-Aesthetic & Psychological Genre Films

Hi everyone!

I’m Marc Llorens, a Creative Producer based in Spain. I specialize in developing elevated genre films—specifically Sci-Fi, Thriller, and Horror—with a focus on the global market.

My current focus is on pioneering atmospheric storytelling that blends retro aesthetics with deep, myth-driven narratives. I’m a huge fan of the "Analog Horror" movement and I’m currently developing a feature project set in the early 1960s that explores these textures.

I’m here to connect with visionary screenwriters, fellow producers, and world-builders who are passionate about high-concept, haunting stories that challenge audiences. I believe in the power of international co-productions and I'm always looking to expand my network with like-minded creatives.

Looking forward to meeting you all and seeing what you’re working on!

Best, Marc

Maurice Vaughan

Hi, Marc Llorens! I'm a huge fan of Analog Horror. I turned some of my short scripts into an Analog Horror feature script once. I'm looking forward to seeing your Analog Horror feature!

Marc Llorens

Thanks, Maurice! Glad to find another Analog Horror fan here. It’s a fascinating medium to explore, especially when blending it with 60s period elements. I actually sent you a message earlier about the One-Pager—would love to get your thoughts on it whenever you have a chance. Cheers!

Maurice Vaughan

You're welcome, Marc Llorens. Your Analog Horror sounds interesting. I haven't gotten a chance to get to all my messages yet. I have a lot on my plate with projects, being a Stage 32 Lounge Moderator, and other things, but I'll read your One-Pager as soon as I can.

Lawrence Stern

Sounds great - nice meeting you on here!

Geoffroy Faugerolas

Hola! Spain has become such a production hub. And some of my favorite filmmakers come from Spain like Amenábar. You'll find a wonderfully creative and vibrant community here with writers, producers and filmmakers from all around the world. If we can help you find anything, feel free to email me and the team at success@stage32.com.

Marc Llorens

Geoffroy Faugerolas Thank you for the warm welcome! Amenábar is definitely a huge inspiration, especially for his mastery of atmosphere and psychological tension. I’m thrilled to be developing 'After the Burial' within such a supportive community. I’ll be sure to reach out to the success team if I need guidance as the project scales. Cheers!

Marc Llorens

Maurice Vaughan Completely understand, Maurice! I appreciate you making the time despite your busy schedule as a Moderator. No rush at all—quality feedback is always worth the wait. Looking forward to your thoughts whenever you're ready. Cheers!

Marc Ginsburg

hello female Marc

Episode 69 from Chrysalis - The Family Advenure(s)

As ICE agents detain the Stivics and storm Amanda’s neighborhood, Josh and Amanda flee into the night—two fugitives with no plan, no allies, and nowhere safe to land. Their escape is clumsy, desperate, and laced with romantic bravado, but the danger is real: Josh’s ankle monitor is a beacon, Amanda’s phone a liability, and every streetlight a threat. Meanwhile, Samantha spars with Agent Ridgefield, refusing to surrender her phone or her dignity, even as the agents close in.

In the woods, Josh and Amanda debate whether to run, hide, or double back. Amanda’s mother is left behind. Her grandmother may be next. And Kamala’s offer of sanctuary is a distant hope across a city they can’t safely cross. When a late-night diner offers a moment of rest, it becomes a trap—and the episode ends with flashing badges, a whispered arrest, and the terrifying realization that love alone won’t keep them free.

Hi Marc Ginsburg , interesting synopsis, but this thread is for the development of 'After the Burial'. Best of luck with your series!

Leonardo Ramirez

Great to meet you Marc Llorens - I'm not sure what analog horror is but I'm always open to learn. Having one property set in a steampunk space opera vein, I was intrigued by your reference to "retro aesthetics". Connecting on an international level is important to me so I'm honored to meet you. All the best with your work!

Marc Llorens

Honored to meet you, Leonardo Ramirez ! Thank you for the warm welcome. Your background is truly inspiring, and I can see that discipline reflected in your success on The Red List.

To give you a quick brief: Analog Horror is a subgenre that uses the visual and auditory limitations of vintage media (VHS, 16mm, old radio signals) to create a unique sense of dread. It relies heavily on what you 'don't see' and the nostalgia of the 20th century. Since you love Steampunk and 'wild invention', I think you'd appreciate the retro-tech side of my project 'After the Burial'.

I’ll definitely check out your Creator Pitch Deck. Always looking to learn from the best. Let's stay in touch!

Leonardo Ramirez

Sounds great Marc Llorens! And thanks so much for the explanation. I love vintage media but never saw it as a tool for a subgenre. Interesting!! Thanks for connecting!
