Maurice Vaughan that’s the reason why many people are nervous and stressed during speaking and not present in their speeches. Your head is busy with thinking about what others might think and not present / focused in your speech.
You're right, Angelika Ursula Heeg. Then later on I think about it and realize I didn't need to be checking myself and thinking about what other people might think of me.
No, I don't. I can honestly say I don't care what other people think of me, it's none of my business. I am responsible for what I say, I am not responsible for how it is perceived. As for checking myself while I am acting, my focus is remembering my lines and staying connected to the other actors. Staying present is all that I have the energy for. If I wonder what the audience thinks, then I am not acting am I?
Suzanne Bronson you’re right. And congratulations that you don’t think about what others might think. Many people have this thoughts during their acting or speaking and the audience feels that you’re not present at those moments.

I check myself and think about what others might think of me when I speak in front of a crowd and pitch live, Angelika Ursula Heeg.
