OWAs are the best-kept secret on this platform — and if you're not using them, you're leaving real opportunities on the table.

Every week, production companies, managers, agents, and producers come to Stage 32 with a specific need. Not a vague "we're open to great scripts" : an actual mandate. Netflix tells a producer they want Rom-Coms in the $10M range. Paramount tells an SVP they need $20M Horror. And those execs come here to find the writers and scripts that fit.

That's an Open Writing Assignment (or Project Need if you're at an agency). And in the last 50 OWAs alone, 250 different writers were selected.

This year? 45 different execs have already scouted for material through OWAs — and we're only 9 weeks in. That's 5 new execs every single week coming to Stage 32 specifically looking for what you're writing.

Recent results speak for themselves:

✦ A writer's script sent to Angela Bassett for consideration to act in and produce

✦ An A-list director/producer attached to a script — now shopping to studios

✦ Atlas Management, Zero Gravity, and Marathon Management all signed writers through OWAs

✦ Every month: 40–50 script requests and 5–10 meeting requests leading to representation, attachments, and studio pitches

It's a direct pipeline to decision-makers with immediate needs — and it's available to every Writers' Room member.

Check the current OWAs, find your match, and submit. Your script deserves to be in that conversation.
