Hello, I'm Anna from Sweden, here to learn more and hopefully find a place for my very exciting true crime manuscript. I'd like to network also. Love/Anna Parfa
True crime is a very powerful genre when handled with strong structure and emotional depth. Wishing you the best with your manuscript and connections here.
Welcome and it’s great to see you coming in with a clear focus.
True crime is a strong space, especially when it’s grounded in a real perspective or angle that hasn’t been overexposed. If you’re looking to find a place for your manuscript, the key will be how it’s positioned not just as a story, but as something that feels distinct and purposeful in a very competitive field.
Stage 32 can be useful for that if you’re intentional about who you connect with: producers, writers, and development professionals who are actively working in crime, thriller, or adaptation spaces.
Happy to connect and support where I can. If you decide to share more about the manuscript, I’d be interested to see how you’re approaching it and where it could best fit.
Hi Anna Parfa, welcome to Stage 32! I’m Ashley, Head of Community here on the platform. It’s great to meet you! It looks like Michael and Laura have already shared some great next steps, and I agree with them, both the Screenwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/screenwriting) and the Writer’s Room are fantastic spaces to build connections and continue learning.
I’d also encourage you to explore the Authoring & Playwriting Lounge (https://www.stage32.com/lounge/playwriting). It’s a great space to connect with other authors, share your process, and get insight into how others are pursuing their projects.
You may also find it really helpful to reach out to our Education Team at Edu@Stage32.com. If you share more about the topics you want to learn about, they can suggest curated classes and resources to help strengthen your skills and industry knowledge.
I’d love to know, what drew you to this particular true crime story?
Thank you for responding. I wanted to write this true crime story because I know the main character who was wrongfully convicted and had to go to prison. She was set up, and it is an ongoing legal battle. It is a David's fight against Goliath, one woman against society and the legal system. When I saw through it, I couldn't keep quiet. I'd like to get the story out in the world, but I don't know where to start. /Anna
