play, Andy How do they get the funding of a screen play and how can I g get my screenplay produced without the small amount of the upfront payment.

do the production company already have the funding to produce my screenplay? If not then, How do they get it when my movie goes through production? where does the money come from? not only that, If I’m a screenwriter and I’m not looking for funding to get my screenplay produced but waiting for the production budget and for it to go through the box office to get the bonus on my screenplay. could I just get it produced without The upfront payment when I sell it.

A production company will option your script (cheaper than buying it), and then attach a director and actors. The production company will look for investors, and if there's an investor, this is how the prod-co gets the money to make the movie. At this time, they would pay you / buy the script for what was agreed upon in the option agreement. Once the movie is completed, and released to theaters, the ticket sales are the "box office receipts." Most indie films do not get released in theaters. If you are a writer starting off, you may take a deferred payment (meaning you will not receive any money upfront, and will only be paid IF the movie makes money ---- which means you probably will not see a paycheck).
