My name is David Mills, and I am a feature screenwriter seeking representation consideration. I am currently working with a slate of four completed, award-recognized feature screenplays centered on coming-of-age, identity, and character-driven drama.
My lead script, BEYOND THE ARC, follows a star high school basketball player in rural Kentucky whose future begins to unravel as he struggles to reconcile his identity with the expectations of his family, teammates, and community. The screenplay was a Gold Award winner at the LGBTQ Unbordered International Film Festival and a finalist in the Wiki: World's Fastest Screenplay Contest.
My additional completed features include:
• DISTANT LIGHTNING – Two teenage boys stranded on a remote island grow from rivals into companions as survival and isolation reshape their understanding of themselves and each other. Winner of Best Characters and Best Tone at the Hollywood International Indie Film & Screenplay Awards and a Wiki finalist.
• CAMERON LOVES... – A teenage television star risks his career and public image after falling for another boy during a summer vacation.
• SOMEWHERE ELSE – A 1982 coming-of-age drama about a recent graduate caught between his girlfriend, his growing attraction to another young man, and the future expected of him. Imaginarium finalist and Wiki semifinalist.
Collectively, these screenplays have received multiple finalist placements, awards, and official selections in recent competitions and festivals.
