Hello everybody.
I'm Michael, a product of NJ now living outside Richmond VA.
About 100 years ago, I was churning out spec sitcom scripts and managed to option an original sitcom to NBC. When my attempted move to LA failed and the option expired, I spent the next 28+ years as a software developer, integrator and problem solver.
I didn't write much in that span, but the drive returned a few years ago. I dabbled in features and managed to park one script on SpecScout.
I have the attention span of a gnat and earlier this year I started writing short screenplays and got hooked. They're like poetry - condensed, saying the most with the least. I wrote 6 so far this year and have done very well on the festival circuit.
When I'm not writing, I keep out my my wife's hair by exhausting my energy on my side gig at wayward.biz.
My goal is to collaborate and produce some shorts and enter them in RIFF and SXSW and the like. Then win an Academy Award, get a star outside Grauman’s, you know, the usual.
My scripts tend to be low-concept, high-impact dramas showcasing the human condition. Of course, I have to sprinkle in the humor when I can.

Welcome, Michael! Really enjoyed reading your introduction. I respect that you came back to screenwriting after all those years. I'm a young writer working on my first action-thriller story, so it's awesome to be in a community with people who have so much experience. Looking forward to seeing what you create!
