I’ve been reading through some of the success stories here, and one thing keeps standing out to me.
Maybe it was the first script request.
The first option.
The first producer who believed in your work.
The first festival acceptance.
The first paid writing job.
The first time someone outside your circle looked at what you created and said, “This has something.”
I’m still building toward those moments myself, especially as I develop original stories for film and television, so I wanted to ask the people who have already crossed some of those bridges:
What was the first moment that made you feel like your creative career was truly becoming real?
And looking back, did that moment happen the way you expected?
I think hearing the beginning behind the success can be just as valuable as hearing the final result.

Thank you! Every milestone means something, but for me, it’s really about what’s being built between them.
I’m developing The Zodiac Lament, a story that began on the page and is growing toward a much larger cinematic universe across publishing, film, television, and beyond. The connections, conversations, and creative exchanges here are all part of that journey. One milestone becomes another, one connection opens another door, and eventually the pieces begin to reveal the bigger picture.
Still building. Still writing. Still creating.
The story is only beginning.
