Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend! What are your goals through Stage 32?

I’m Leonardo Ramirez. I tell stories that explore what it means to be human, always with a thread of hope running through them. Sci-fi and fantasy are usually where I live creatively—I love building the worlds where those stories unfold and uplift the soul. I’m also a moderator here on Stage 32 in the screenwriting lounge and the writer’s room.

What are some goals you’d like to achieve through Stage 32 this month?

I absolutely love meeting new creatives. I’m a big believer in building relationships because they’re not only encouraging, but you never know what kind of collaboration might come from expanding your circle of creative peers. That’s where I thrive. My goal is to expand that and improve follow up.

What about you? Are you hoping to meet new people, take a webinar or class, book a consultation, find collaborators, or explore something else?

What would you like to accomplish through Stage 32 this month?

Maurice Vaughan

Hey, Leonardo Ramirez. Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend! That's a great goal. I'm rooting for you to reach it! My goal this month is finish rewriting my Faith-based Sports Action feature and start pitching it on Stage 32. Maybe enter a Stage 32 contest.

Leonardo Ramirez

Can't wait to see complete your goal Maurice Vaughan. I also remember you mentioning a poster for it on another post - can't wait to see that! Happy IY weekend my friend!

Maurice Vaughan

Thanks, Leonardo Ramirez. I outlined A LOT, and I've done A LOT of work on the script, but God is showing me things about the story that I didn't even think about. It's better to take care of those things now than after I pitch the script and enter the contest!

Leonardo Ramirez

You are absolutely right Maurice Vaughan - always better to head these things off at the start. That's one of those things that I wish I had known when I started. We have to be patient with ourselves. And I know you have plenty of patience, brother.

Maria Caeiro

Hi, Leonardo Ramirez, and happy IYW. You're always so inspiring. This month I have so many challenges that I don’t even know where to start :) I’m taking webinars, writing pitches and synopses, building a pitch deck, and pitching my feature. That’s it :)

Sandra Isabel Correia

Happy Introduce Yourself Weekend, mi hermano! You truly live what you’re describing. You don’t simply collect connections, you build genuine relationships, encourage people, and help creatives feel that they belong. That is one of the many reasons I’m grateful Stage 32 brought us together.

My goal this month is to begin introducing Soul Mated and its newly completed producer package to professionals who may genuinely connect with the story and potentially become the right producing partners. I also want to continue expanding my relationships beyond the screen, because I’ll be in London in November and am excited to finally meet some of my online creative friends in person.

And, of course, I’ll keep supporting our community beside my favorite moderator hermano. They still haven’t discovered how much trouble we can cause together lol :D

Maurice Vaughan

You're right, @Leonardo. Thanks. God has been working on my patience. I remember the first/one of the first screenplay contests I entered wayyy back. I should've taken a lot more time learning screenwriting and a lot more time on the script before I entered. Sorry to the person who had to read that script. Haha

Leonardo Ramirez

Maria Caeiro - look who's inspiring...you are! That is a ton to take on but my friend, I have no doubt that you'll finish all of it up and come out of the other side with prize in hand. That is my hope for you Maria. Always so good to see you here.

William W Dilks Sr

Hi Leonardo. For me, it's tofinish my GESSLER'S pilot, with the help of some of the excellent experienced resources here at STAGE 32 so it's ready to get into the right hands. Keep up your excellent work here!

Leonardo Ramirez

Ok Sandra Isabel Correia - you just made my day - being your "favorite moderator hermano" rocks my world hermana! And yes, I too am so glad that Stage 32 brought us together. You're one of the great joys of being here (and my fav too!). I have no doubt that you'll achieve ALL of your goals and I'm rooting for you always!!

Leonardo Ramirez

Isn't that funny how when we pray for patience, Maurice Vaughan, we're given the opportunity to strengthen it? Oh and about your first script..trust me...been there. I think back and OOF!

Leonardo Ramirez

Hey William W Dilks Sr - Happy IY weekend! Here's to you finishing up that pilot. Rooting for you friend! Thanks for stopping by - glad you did!

William W Dilks Sr

Leonardo Ramirez Thanks. Submitted for review. Then may do one more based on feed-back. I know it's strong, yet want to make sure it's industry-ready. I do have submission interest/approval from ZGM so far. Looking forward to getting this moving.

Maurice Vaughan

Haha @Leonardo. I tried to rewrite a really old script once. It's harder than I thought. It's probably easier to write the idea as a new script than rewriting the old script.

Leonardo Ramirez

It’s easier to take out the parts that don’t work Maurice Vaughan.

Maurice Vaughan

I'll try that if I rewrite another really old script, @Leonardo. Thanks for the idea.

Suzanne Bronson

Maurice Vaughan I would never pray for patience but more power to you. ;)

Darrell A Pennington

I'm very hopeful that I am able to finish book 4 of my 5 eBook series, My Cousin From Kentucky Leonardo Ramirez

Maurice Vaughan

Hey, @Suzanne. I just prayed for more patience today. :D How are you doing?

Leonardo Ramirez

Always good to see you Suzanne Bronson. How did your move go?

Leonardo Ramirez

Rooting for you on book 4 Darrell A Pennington! How far along are you?

Darrell A Pennington

I wrote 4K words today and am now at 34K total and project to be about 72K in total Leonardo Ramirez . The entire series projects to about 275K words in total.

Sydney S

Hi Leonardo! Happy IYW! Always great to hear from you! I love your focus on building relationships and expanding your creative circle. Since sci-fi and fantasy are your sweet spot, I also wanted to mention our Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Supernatural Screenwriting Lab, which could be a great opportunity to develop your ideas with guidance from an experienced industry professional. Wishing you lots of success with your goals this month :)

Leonardo Ramirez

4K words is awesome Darrell A Pennington. That’s massive progress in one day. Congrats man!

Leonardo Ramirez

Thanks so much Sydney S, I’ll certainly take a look. Always good to hear from you friend. Thanks for all you do!

Darrell A Pennington

Thanks Leonardo Ramirez ! My goal is 3500-5K words a day five days a week. I've developed a routine (my life used to revolve around routine, much less so now but I have found that I mentally need a routine to be as productive on the page as my proposed timeline requires.

Benj Deck

i would like to create more stories that uplifts us, tell stories of the difficulties of life and, of course faith-based stories. I am also into some action stories like I’m working now.

And hopefully, to get noticed and a dream come true if one of my stories gets made into a feature or a miniseries. That would greatly help uplift my life as well.

Good luck everyone!

Jaz Lagrimas

Always happy to have you here Leonardo Ramirez! I'm now focusing on promoting the Stage 32's FREE live script breakdown of THE PITT Pilot with Michael Schulman (Story Analyst, Amazon MGM Studios; Stage 32 Executive, Thought Leader, and Educator) on Wednesday, November 18th at 1:00 PM PT.

See you around :)

Maria Caeiro

I´m resilient Leonardo Ramirez and if it means inspiration for other writers along the way, that makes me happy. And if I actually make it out the other side with a prize in hand, I’ll frame your message right next to it. Ah Ah... thank you. Always great seeing you here too.

Meriem Bouziani

Hello, happy IYW to you! Wishing you all the success and achievements you’re working toward.

For me, I’d really like to get back to being more active on Stage 32, asking questions, connecting with other creatives, learning from different experiences, and continuing to grow in the industry.

Leonardo Ramirez

I get picked on at home for my routines Darrell A Pennington but I love and have no problem being a creature of habit. I'm sure that helps you with your goal of 5k a day. That's awesome man.

Leonardo Ramirez

Sounds like we're very like-minded , Benj Deck in wanting to create stories that uplift. We take our rough spots and turn them into nuggets of gold for others to benefit from. It's an honor to meet you friend.

Leonardo Ramirez

Thanks so much for stopping by Jaz Lagrimas and all the best with the breakdown. Thanks so much for all you do friend!

MESTAWOT SIMA WOYESSA

Hi Leonardo,

Thank you for the warm introduction! I share your belief that powerful stories can explore what it means to be human and leave audiences with something meaningful to reflect on.

I’m an Ethiopian novelist seeking opportunities to bring my stories to film or television. Two of my books with potential for screen adaptation are The Pandemonium of Flattery, a story set in Addis Ababa exploring hypocrisy, social injustice, conscience, and human dignity, and ISALOM – THE TRUTH OF THE SOUL, a psychological mystery centered on justice, a suspicious accusation, and a young woman’s search for the truth.

My goal through Stage 32 is to connect with filmmakers and legitimate producers or production companies interested in optioning or acquiring adaptation rights. I’d be glad to connect and share a brief synopsis if either story aligns with your interests.

Wishing you meaningful connections and exciting collaborations this month!

Leonardo Ramirez

You are resilient Maria Caeiro, but I think it's your kind heart that will carry you further than simple resiliency.

Leonardo Ramirez

So glad to hear that Meriem Bouziani because you truly are a light in the lounges. I love seeing your posts and responses to others - you know how encourage people from the a real and humble heart.

Leonardo Ramirez

You're in the right place MESTAWOT SIMA WOYESSA and it's an honor to meet you. The way to do that is by sharing the story of YOU and your creative journey. What I love about Stage 32 is that it's a safe place to grow those relationships organically over time. You'll want to always be discerning about who you align yourself with and get to know them first - meaningful connections, as you already know! So glad you're with us!

Meriem Bouziani

Thank you very much for your kind words. They really made me smile. I’m always so happy to connect and interact with everyone here in the lounges Leonardo Ramirez

Suzanne Bronson

I haven't moved yet. Will be moving to Albuquerque when my lease is up in May.

Leonardo Ramirez

Got it Suzanne Bronson. Hope the move goes well.

Charmane Wedderburn

Great to see you here again, Leonardo!

Your point about follow-up really resonates with me. Making the initial connection is important, but I’m realizing more and more that the real value is in allowing those conversations to develop into genuine creative relationships over time.

This month, one of my goals on Stage 32 is to be more intentional about that — continuing to develop my projects, getting the right material in front of the right people, but also spending more time actually getting to know the writers, producers, and filmmakers behind the profiles.

I’ve had some encouraging steps forward recently, so my goal now is less about trying to do everything at once and more about building on that momentum thoughtfully.

Wishing you a great IYW, Leonardo. And I’m glad our paths have already crossed here!

Rok Strohsack

Hey everyone, great to connect!

I’m Rok Strohsack, a writer–director from Slovenia currently developing my debut feature film STILL HERE. My work focuses on identity, belonging, and intimate character‑driven storytelling.

My goal on Stage 32 this month is to expand my network, connect with creatives who resonate with personal and emotionally grounded films, and share more about my project. I’m especially interested in meeting producers and collaborators with experience in European co‑productions or development programs like TorinoFilmLab.

Looking forward to connecting and building meaningful creative relationships.

Leonardo Ramirez

Always good to see you Charmane Wedderburn and I am super glad our paths crossed here. Very happy that you've had some encouraging steps - it's those "small-but-not-small" steps that keep us going a bit at a time. Blessings on your weekend Charmane!

Leonardo Ramirez

So glad you're with us Rok Strohsack and the title alone of your project really evokes interest and resonance, given what we've been talking about on this thread. It's an honor to meet you!

Maurice Vaughan

Hey, @Rok. Great to meet you.

Ashley Renée Smith

Leonardo Ramirez happy IYW, my friend! Thank you for everything you do for this community. The care and attention you bring to the Screenwriting and Writers' Room Lounges make such a difference, and the writers there are lucky to have you looking out for them.

I love that your goal is improving follow-up. It's the piece so many of us overlook, and it's where a simple connection turns into a lasting creative relationship. And I always love that thread of hope running through your stories. The world can always use more of that!

As for me, my goal this month is to meet as many members as I can in person at AFF, and then keep those conversations going long after the festival ends. Looks like we're both working on our follow-up!

Leonardo Ramirez

Thanks for the tools that will help me do that Ashley Renée Smith! Todoist is awesome! I practically live off of it now.

Ashley Renée Smith

Hahaha! SO glad you find it as helpful as I do, Leonardo Ramirez!
