Animation : Need assistance. by Marcus Boyer

I have a Bachelor's in Media Theatre Arts and a Master's in Special Effects and Fashion Makeup. I want to go back to school and get a Minor in Graphic Arts so I can learn how to do Animation. Does anyone have any advice on what programs to look into for animation? Or, can someone give me a breakdown on what/where I need to start on first? Thank you.
