Introduce Yourself : Introduction South African student Filmmaker by Alwyn De Bruyn

Hi, I am an older South African student filmmaker finishing my course at CPUT, near Cape Town. Am busy shooting my final year short, Idiologie, next week. On professional productions, I do camera assist/some light wrangling, PA, grips assist, or whatever is available, anything where I can learn more about film. Still looking for a place to do my intern-ship. I enjoy doing everything, apart from being in front of the camera. I intend to keep learning about every aspect of film, until my dying day. On my own stuff, I write, direct, produce, gaffer, grip, art direct, record sound, edit (can cut in the three popular NLE's), grade, do some light VFX, whatever I need, to get it done. I prefer to create fictional content. I have stories to tell, ways of telling them and an unquenchable need to improve, in how I tell them. I intend to become a fully fledged South African filmmaker/ writer director, who succeeds commercially domestically and abroad. If it means drawing my films by hand, frame by frame and exibiting them by candle light I will do it. Looking for like minded folk. I have to make film in some capacity or other. I may as well collaborate with others. That's me in a nutshell. Alwyn
