Hi from the rural backwater of the South West UK, a town called Wincanton, a place everyone passes by to get to somewhere else; someone once said of it 'a market town without a market, twinned with a place that doesn't exist' (Those who read the Discworld books by Terry Pratchett will know of the Discworld Emporium which is is based here and that it is the site of their annual 'Hogfest'). It's a nice enough place but not exactly the centre of the universe when it comes to screenwriting. I was originally inspired to write what I feel is a great story, who's characters visited me and asked me to tell their very dramatic tale of loss, conflict, love and desire. For some reason I immediately knew it had to be written as a screenplay not a novel. (probably because I did have ambitions to be a cinematographer in my youth and trained as a photographer before I had to go live in the real world). Not knowing the first thing about screenplays, in an effort to educate myself I read numerous screenplay books, attended a National Film & Television Screenwriting course and got on writing screenplays. I had always wanted to write but life, career and all that meant I had not gotten round to it: writing being a luxury/hobby when it is not your main source of income. I am now at a stage where I can now devote the time to it and have plenty of life experience to bring to my writing. I am writing because I can't not write and feel obliged to tell my character's stories, although of course the ultimate dream goal is to 'see it made' and be able to consider it a success.
