Introduce Yourself Weekend

Hi everyone! They call me Miss Blue, and I am an aspiring Theatre journalist from the UK! This is my 1st time networking so I really want to reach out to any other Theatre Journalists as well as to those who are passionate about theatre - my particular love is musicals! Would be great to hear from you all!

Scott Goldberg

Welcome "Miss Blue" and hope you find a nice home here I am also new to Stage 32 but I've been welcomed with open arms by "RB" and he seems to appear virtually terrific, and I'm sure that, in this case, he is, and his cohort, "Derrick" who has also been helpful are responsive to everyone's needs asap. Hope you have a great experience here and I am and I am PICKY and an anal retentive pain in the tuchas! LOL. WELCOME! Scotty Goldberg, Milpitas, CA...somewhere very near San Jose, CA in the very heart of Silicon Valley. Techno world and home of Apple, Cisco Systems, Google, Ebay, Hewlitt Packard, IBM, etc...a perfect place to live for technology, earthquakes, and terrorist activity but none, "knock on wood" have happened except for the occasional and boring for most of us, ground shakers. They're over rated in most cases and easy to prepare for anyway. Commons sense food, H2o for drinking and washing are all necessary items to keep in both houses and cars. But I apologize for the hard right turn off the subject. Just welcome and perhaps join my little slice here and be assured that you'll be appreciated and enjoy your experience here. Best! Scott

i went on your blog..found it through Twitter..loved it. Love theater, especially Musical theater. bookmarked the blog & I'll visit often. The project I'm working on, I'm seeing a folk opera (think Oklahoma) only it's Yorkshire & the Outback of New South Wales Australia. I'll send you some stories..you'll love them. Happy weekend!

Michelle York

Whoops..my finger must have hiccuped on the request button..do forgive!

Scott Goldberg

Thanks so much Michelle. I must make this short which is hard for a big mouth like me. lol. If i missed the follow button please remind me again but I must run right now. Send stuff off! Also, Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I am very flattered and owe a lot to many people for getting me this far already, and time to break out to the big bucks! Love and peace, Scotty

Hey Scotty..Got a tape measure? I'll bet we could do a competition as to who has a bigger mouth! Gemini me..never shuts up! Coming from the 60s' has made it difficult for me to follow the normal conventions of this business..I remember when a writer threw his script over the gate on directors house, right next to the daily paper he would walk down to pick up in the early morning..Or the one about David Geffens butler putting in a musicians CD in the car DG drove so that as soon as he put the key in..Whoosh! up came the music..Those days are no more..I need to educate myself for these modern times. http://themercurialworld.blogspot.com/ http://theadventuresofyorky.blogspot.com/ These are stories from the Outback. http://aninheritencefromyorkshire.blogspot.com/ Before going to Australia. Enjoy the read..I have hundreds of stories all lined up for keying in..A grant/funding would be great so I could stop designing jewelry and just focus on this work..It is my love! Thanks for taking the time...

Michelle York

The writer of these stories is also an amazing composer/musician and the next step is writing a theme song for a proposed tv series.. or a folk opera (think Oklahoma) only taking place in the Outback of Australia..I have many 'big ideas'..

Scott Goldberg

Hey Michelle, I hear ya, I shoulda' been a writer I guess and I guess I am when it comes to music, but always wanted to do a novel too. I did wind up teaching English in college for a couple of years while teaching recording. That was funny because now I see myself running on and on! lol. We will stay in touch and when/if funding goes through we'll have a better idea of where and who to draw from. I'm sure you have some great stories and I do want to check them out. Don't feel like I'm pushing you off here, I'm not ar all! I just have to stay focused, with my eye on the ball helping out business person get the facts and figures correct. One thing at at time is what I learned and I've stopped leaving six different legal pads out with 12 different ideas started but never finished. Those days are over thankfully. Yesterday, I wound up with a big headache after devising an algebra equation that will hopefully give my guys the proportions we need to give each person doing ANYTHING for the LLC we're creating. We want so badly to make tremendous animated feature films with a certain type of edge plus a special, new and efficient way of doing this, utilizing the powers of the WWW, people from all over, and NEVER telling an artist not to create something so as they stay happy and motivated with ideas. With that said, I spent more time than I would in a lifetime of working on math with variables and such, to get an algebraic equation defining the percentage of Mechanicals that our people would get for each and every production we're going to do in the future and for each and every person involved and to what degree of time and importance. Yikes! Suffice it to say, I wound up with a headache that is still living off my x's and y's and I am avoiding left brain activity as much as possible. I'm one of those guys who always got hassled for not getting straight A's in school cause the two halves of my brain were both pretty active. However, the right side is definitely much stronger than the left. I guess it's also pretty strong, but doing things like programming, figuring out checkbooks, simple tasks like that, are doable but the hurt my brain! lol. So, I am not reading much of anything today, I'm sorry! I will though and that's a promise. I stick by my word and my reputation continues to stay heavily guarded, especially in these times of people just doing "virtual character assassination for the fun of it." "Not gonna do it" as Dana Carvey said as George Bush Sr. "Na Ga Da!" So, please forgive me for this moment in time and don't even feel funny about prodding me, so I check out your storage vault of stories. I'm interested and flattered that you'd want me to take a look. I'm really no one, who's just had some really good luck when it comes to getting some of the opportunities I've been blessed to have received. Most of it is just plain tenacity, really! "Now" is just a time in my life, like you, where we all want to stop making jewelry, or whatever pays our bills, and finally get rewarded for our life's loves financially, and not just with some pretty plaque or free piece of cool gear. So, I'll continue to open my big mouth/keyboard so as to make sure that what I say is always understood or at least, has the case behind my long drawn out chats, but at least they shall demonstrate that I am, indeed sincere and truthful. I can't live with myself any other way and I won't allow the people who work with and for me to live and other way either. Stay in touch and I WILL take a look and I'm sure I'll enjoy your screenplays. Oh By the way, the David Geffen scenario, I'm told is called a Nashville handshake. Jeffry Foskett, head of Brian Wilson's band told me that when I handed him a CD to listen to one night. How embarrasking! Akk ak ak ak ak! (Popeye circa 1950's) Take care Michelle and thanks for continuing this discussion. I hoped to find some really cool people here, which is why my partner gave me the link, and I'm enjoying meeting people in this business and still have severe ties in the music world of simply making music. I want to continue to do more than just that. Peace, Scotty

Michelle York

What a mind Scott!~ I enjoyed your response..thanks..stay in touch.

Scott Goldberg

Thank you Michelle. What a nice thing to say! Things have already picked up much since our last post. Big day here today, can't stay on for long but stay in touch! :-) Scotty
