Introduce Yourself : Mother, Author, Entrepreneur, and Survivor by Dawn Tevy

I am a Latina, single mother of 2 teenage boys, and together the three of us are survivors of domestic violence. In December of 2009 I began writing what is now my first novel 'Angels & Warriors, The Awakening'. I actually finished the editing and was able to publish in July of 2012 while my sons and I were residing in a domestic violence shelter in California. Between 2009 and now I have secured many amazing people to work with me, all of which have strictly volunteered their time up to this point; a graphic artist, traditional artist, a handler, sound recording guru, male warriors for touring, screen play writer, and many, many more…along the way I have also had the privilege of working with Lou Aronica, the VERY man who discovered and launched George Lucas’ Star Wars all those years ago when no-one else saw potential in it. Lou has also worked with some of the biggest names of our time in the literary world; Margaret Weis, Arthur C. Clark, Ray Bradbury, and Nora Roberts just to name a few. I want to approach this endeavor from a perspective that has never been fully explored and that's why I'm here, I am hoping to meet the 'right' people to help take this endeavor to the next level.
