The Fling SAG/SAG-Deferred Director/Writer: Kenneth Lott Location: New York City Executive Producer: Bob Giraldi Casting Call: TBD Graduate Thesis Film Shoot Date: End of February School of Visual Arts Live Action Short Film “Two star crossed ne’re-do-wells, an aging prostitute and a young petty thief with a talent for drawing, embark on a journey across New York City to make a little change, and find a little change….” JEREMIAH – 11 years old African-American Characteristics- Sarcastic, borderline cynical Very mature and poised Articulate Street Savvy Special Skills- Needs to be an artist Drawing, sketching ability a plus Does not have to be a great artist, amateurs artist are ok One of the film’s main characters, Jeremiah is a young artist/thief from Harlem. Although he is still a child, he is wiser and smarter than anyone his age, giving him a honest yet pessimistic ideology on life most do not see until they are well into adulthood. Jeremiah has never left his neighborhood before and along with Khelly, will embark on an eye-opening journey that may change his perception on life. KHELLY - 35 years old Caucasian woman Characteristics- Very optimistic and upbeat Uses a lot of slang Very street smart The film’s second main character, Khelly is a prostitute who is at the end of her career. Khelly had a profitable run early in her adulthood, but now that her career is starting to wind down, Khelly reflects on her past and realizes she wasted a lot of potential. She sets out with Jeremiah on a journey to show him that his potential can take him to many places he’s never seen before. Street Vendor – Will play both the owner of the fruit stand where Jeremiah and Khelly meet as well as a street vendor that the two will attempt to rob later in the story 45+ year old male Any ethnicity Should be angry, yet comical
