Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate it....and Happy Holidays to those who don't. I'm a Yorkshire girl who has moved around the country over the years but presently reside in the North! I spent many years acting in amateur theatre whilst holding down a day job. It has been said that if we're aiming to be professionals we're not supposed to utter the dreaded word 'amateur', but I am, as I believe I learnt my core disiplines in stagecraft from some highly skilled and talented individuals from respected musical and dramatic societies, back in my youth! I stopped acting while I raised my family and now fortunately find myself in a position where I can devote my time and energy to becoming a professional actor. In the last 12 months I have worked on camera (which was a whole new ball game to me) with University Students on Short Films, Private Company Short Films, Corporate Company Training Videos and Photo Shoots. Alongside these I have attended various actor training courses and will continue to do so as I feel I have missed out by not going down the formal drama school training route! So what can I say....I feel at home infront of a camera and would love to work in TV and Film but would be equally happy treading the boards again in professional theatre. I thank Stage 32 and all you lovely people for being around to support and give advice to me and each other on our journey in this very precarious business!
