Introduce Yourself : Hello Stage32~ by Ryan Lechner

I have for a long time held a dormant passion about cinema, its effects and potentials. I had the opportunity to take some courses related to it, and I've studied here & there on my own. During the past several years, I feel I have built strong--tho general--principles, beliefs, personal standards, whatever you wish to call them--more than taste. But so far, all of this has remained theoretical; that is, I have no practical experience (a little acting, and lending a hand to a couple documentaries in colllege), and I feel I'm at that point in my life when I can (and need to) change that, my own personal fail safe. I want to make this my obsession. A friend turned me onto this site a couple of weeks ago. I hope to use this space to test some of my ideas, discuss and debate; and, more importantly, to learn about the trials, successes, and failures working in this field. I have several big ideas for both screen & stage that I'd like one day to undertake, after I build some working principles. I'm trying to keep my plans small for now--to buy a handheld HD camcorder and experiment, learn as I go, maybe start a video blog once I find my footing. Let come of it what will. In the meantime, I look forward to hearing from you all, sharing with you, and perhaps some day meeting some of you to create something together.
