As composer and musician I have been working since the mid 70s in the field of music, as a rock musician and composer for drama and performing. Since the beginning of the new millenium my favorite instrument has been the theremin, a Russian avantgarde instrument invented 1919, that amazes people who see him play. My goal now is to make it to a broader audience - out from the salons of the cultural elite.
 
In my effort to explore the potential of the theremin, I have found that most skilled theremin players in the world make music that maybe are understood, or liked, by a cultural elite, more than by the broader audience. Pop or rock oriented theremin music is not so common, more classical and avantgarde. Some pop/rock band have used the theremin but often limited to be an effect and as a source of funny noices. The intention with my music has always been to open up and welcome all sorts of people of all ages, but I have noticed that some people in the theremin "community" dislike my extroverted style of theremin music. My dream for the theremin, that it will, finally after ninety years, find the potential large audience, encourages me to continue.
