Filmmaking / Directing : Where's the Crew Work for SC Professionals? by Pj Suttle

Army Wives has their crew locked tighter than Tupperware. I haven't noticed much happening with film production for quite some time. And when I do, production companies are bringing their own folks in or they're seeking folks to work below scale, for free & credit only. This is completely bastardizing working professionals and giving a bleak illusion to those seeking a gig. What are y'alls thoughts on this? I'd love to hear from others! Thank you!
