Valerie, I have a documentary series mini-bible I would like to get to interested people. And I have a lot to learn. It's called: Journey into Space with Paul Houston Documentary Series Overview: Journey into Space is a documentary television series, teaming technical workers with extra-ordinary dreams, with the expert vision of aerospace engineers: Focusing their skills and relationships for the mission objective to journey into space, they venture into the universe of space exploration with a new generation of television followers. Of course I would like to move with this, but a docu-series is legally difficult to protect. I am thanking about how to move forward with legal protection to get it in front of someone. Hello Paul and thank you for connecting. I do have experience in docu's and IP protection issues. Can you tell me what you have so far in terms of a "mini-bible", what format it is in presently, have you copyrighted your materials etc? Valerie

Valerie,- Right now I have a 5 page document that describes the basic features and concepts for the program. I also have various log-lines to describe the concept concisely. I have submitted this "mini-bible" to WGA-West for documentation. I am thinking through the attributes necessary to edit a "One-sheet" for the series as well. But other than that I have not done anything officially. I have not submitted it to an attorney or an agent for representation or protection or anything. I look forward to seeing how legal representation may help to officiate the submission of my series and protect it in the process of consideration for myself and anyone who would like to consider it for production or representation. Hi Paul: Well while my office performs services which do include oversight of projects re; legal protection etc, it does not "shop" projects as an agency would. That being said, I have helped in the submission process on behalf of clients who have made an initial connection where the production co. requires the submission to come through agent or counsel. Hello Ana: As a general rule my practice does not include shopping or submission of new/prospective material. The exception is if a current client has made the initial contact to the person or entity who has agreed to accept it coming through the proper source, such as agent or attorney. They do this for their own protection and to assure at least the cover of legitimacy. For this service I of course do require a fee for my time; it sounds like the quote you receives may also include follow up correspondence and/or negotiation. If you do have the authority from the talent and agent to submit I could oversee this for you for a limited time/fee understanding, it would be up to you if you wish me to take it further.
