Hello to all the Stage32 friends ! As Richard advised me I'm glad to write now here some little problem that I have, as a French film-maker and also scriptwriter : the problem is that of course all my scripts are written in my native French language and It would be long I think for translating all (I have between 15 and 20 complete scripts (of different duration and for short and also long features). Dose someone know if some US structures (or in other countries in English language) could accept and be interested in scripts in foreign language (French language on my behalf) ? Films intended for English speaking audiences with English speaking actors would have to be written in English. There is, however, a market for French films in Quebec, which resides in a country with a very vibrant film and artistic community. The other option would be to film them in French and have them subtitled in English. This generally hurts box office, but if the film is VERY good, it will still find audiences. I hope this helps.
Hello Mark and thanks really for your reply. Thanks also for your advice (the Québec market) and I'll try to find. About the fact to make English subtitles : yes abviously and all my films (fictions, clips and live reports) are of course English subtitled. The only problem is that my scripts are written in French and I wish to find English language firms for sending them my scripts (although written in French) because, very influenced by the great writer H.P Lovecraft, I'm sure the scripts I wrote are likely to interest foreign countries
I don't want to forget as well Jacqueline for here kind advice and yes I'll try to translate (it's a long work but I wish) some of my scripts... one for the beginning ! Friendly
