Log Lines

Turning in an idea for a screenplay I have for a contest. I could use help with log lines if anyone has good advice on them or where I could look to get advice. Thanks!

Write log lines like the lead sentence of a story in a magazine or newspaper that impressed you by saying so much in so few words. Equally, deconstructing posts by a Tweeter you rate can help too. Just remember always: less is more. Incorporate as much of what your story is about, who are the main characters, where the story is set and how the story unfolds as possible. Use an analogy, or an example of another film or novel to make sure the reader will understand as much as possible about feel and atmosphere and style. It's not as complicated as it sounds. Write a draft or three. Read what you have written out loud to make sure it flows as spoken word. Leave for three to seven days. While you rest, get two other opinions from people whose creative opinions you respect and/or trust. and consider their opinion. Read again with fresh eyes, edit and tweak and off to market you go ...
