Screenwriting : It's a wrap on #WCTO & @TSVtoronto's first 'Test Drive Your Script'! by Thom Vernon

We've got the story, but what goes on the page? We've got the vision, but how do we work with screenwriters & pro actors to get it on the screen? Writers' Circle Toronto and Trinity Square Video teamed up for a 2-day 'Test Drive Your Script' intensive where we took on these questions first-hand. Under the guidance of professionals (me, working with pro actors and the emerging screenwriters; Mary Daniel, Director and DOP, working with the emerging directors), we went from table read all to rehearsal, shot lists, blocking, lighting, to shoot to screening rushes on 4 scenes. Everyone got to see how we do it. Why professionalism and etiquette count and how it actually makes it a lot more fun. Many wonderful bits of feedback have been given, but one from a writer sticks out in particular. 'I learned to trust the coach (Director) and our team (the actors).
