Film cameras and software?

What's your recommendation, 3k budget.

Eisha Marjara

Canon 5D and Final Cut pro editing software... Best bet for the quality, but over 3k. In that case depending on what you are using it for, would recommend Canon rebel t2i instead..I shot a short film with it and it looked great.

I'll check that out for sure Eisha, heard a lot of good things about the Canon AX H1 also.

I have recently purchased an iMac do it'll be interesting to know what cool things exist for that also.

Eisha Marjara

I have a mac too. Indispensable when working in media - I think anyway. My last 2 films were edited on final cut.

Are you looking to hire the camera equipment or buy it outright? I have just done film for under £3k and hired in the Canon C300. We are in post production right now so I cant show you anything just yet but the results are brilliant so far. Editing I'd say get Adobe. That works on Macs or PC...

Great responses all, ideally I would like to buy a camera, I'm not a cameraman myself but I have an idea for a very fixed position almost surveillance short film.
