Hello everyone! I am Sasha Vosk, an independent producer/director based in Green Point, New York, with the Emmy-award winning “Billy Crystal - Midnight Train to Moscow” and a Telly-award winning "Moscow Circus: A Winter's Tale" oldies under my belt. I am working on bringing to light a knock-out original TV Sketch-Comedy series called “IRONY WORLD”, which I wrote. This project, will reflect the multifaceted fundamentals of the human lives world-over through the prism of IRONY. The sketches will cover the full range of Life Circle. Terrific and experienced actor-ensemble is a given here, but also, unlike many other current “just-make-them-laugh” TV sketch projects, this one will put much emphasis on the ART of cinematography and on-screen presentation. Besides the live action there will be 2 animation segments (stop-motion and traditional) running throughout the series. “IRONY WORLD” is designed, by the way of its implementation, to play world-wide audiences. I am assembling a crew of creative comrades to fully complete a 6-sketch pilot teaser by the beginning of the summer. Then use it to approach potential buyers of the series and get the funds for pilot’s completion. I would like to attract a producer (or co-producer) and I am looking for assistance/participation in this project from all the departments, starting with cinematography and production design all the way through computer graphics and animation. Eventually I would like to discuss with the Stage 32 world-wide community the distribution possibilities in their countries. Open to start a dialog! P.S. I am originally from NYC so I am familiar with the area. If this does not work go to meetup.com and search out NYC Filmmakers within whatever is an acceptable radius of your location and a list of potential leads will populate.
Hey Sasha, Are you a member of New York Women in Film & Television (nywift.org)? It's a community of about 2,000 people, and I've gained so much support and made so many friends there. While it isn't specific to people in Greenpoint, there's a database of member names (once you join) that would shed light on people who hail from your neck o' the woods.
