Introduce Yourself : My Real Passion by Carl David

Hi everyone, I am Carl David; a 3rd generation Fine Art Dealer in our now 4th generation family owned & operated Fine Art Gallery business in Philadelphia. I am also a writer. My first book was "Collecting & Care Of Fine Art (Crown, NY 1981), my second book is "Bader Field;How My Family Survived Suicide" (Nightengale Press, 2008/2009) and my third "Waking Dreams; The Subtle Reality (coming late 2014). I've also written and published many articles in both print and online journals and am a contributing journalist for www.groundreport.com. My music and photography are also strong passions (some of which are available to see and hear on my website, www.carledavid.com. One of my immediate goals is to have "Bader Field; How My Family Survived Suicide" made into a film; a documentary, short film or ultimately a feature film as it could be the next "Ordinary People" and it would save lives. I am on a path to pay it forward by taking the darkest days of my life and doing something to benefit others with them. Suicide takes more lives each year than homicide and breast cancer combined. More than 1 million lives claimed worldwide every year leaving 5 million behind to mourn them. At epidemic levels, this is an act that only massive exposure and education will defy. If teens and young adults could see how an idyllic 1960's American family was shattered and how they struggled to claw their way back to life, they might, if on that edge of desperation realize, that there is help for them and that they are not alone and hopefully choose to live, not die.
