Introduce Yourself : Ya- te-hey by Evelyn Rainey

Evelyn Rainey

Ya- te-hey

That's Navajo for what most everyone has been saying - Hello! I'm Evelyn Rainey - author (published by traditional small presses), columnist, writing coach, literary agent, speaker, and educator. I'm also a belly-dancer - and strangely enough, that tends to get more people's attention than the above mentioned. I'm working on setting up monthly workshops on the business-side of writing - proposal packets, honing your skills, knowing your genre, fleshing out your characters, etc. I'm also working on the sequel to Perky's Books & Gifts along with a half-dozen other novels. I'm currently pitching 5 (of my own) novels to various publishers and one through my agency. I also have about a dozen book-signing events and conventions I'll be guesting scheduled over the next 9 months. I write a weekly column about Science Fiction & Fantasy Books for the 2nd largest women's e-mag in the world - BellaOnline. I facilitate Writers for All Seasons - a twice-a-month writers group. I envision being a NYTimes Best selling author. I stand at the bookstores and envision my books along the top "best-seller" shelves. I envision coaching hundreds of creative people in ways to "follow their bliss" (BLISS being Building Life-Long Inspirational & Successful Strategies) Now - what can I do for you? I can help you improve your writing skills & strategies. I can help you market your book. I can help you get your book published. I can edit your manuscript - but I'm tough - I'm professional and will get it to "galley-proof" quality. I can be a sounding board when you have ideas but can't see through to coagulating them. I can come speak to your writing group. And finally - what do I need help with? I need a location to hold my workshops in Central Florida - preferably Polk County - large enough to hold 2 dozen people at tables with a kitchenette and STRONG and reliable electricity and wireless service. The place I'm using now is nice, but it is up a very steep flight of stairs (limits my audience) and doesn't have wireless. I'm grateful for this location, but it is not sufficient for my needs and my vision. I also need clients who want to utilize my skills and talents - through the workshops, emailed coaching/editing, and/or through my agency. OH! and I need publisher(s) for all of my books - fully complete and those to come. I would prefer traditional or small press publishing houses, please, which provide e-books as well as trade back books. (I realize e-books are the way of the future, but you can't autograph e-books and I DO LOVE to hold book signings!) I love the publishers I am already associated with - Comfort Publishing, Bedlam Press, and Whiskey Creek Press. They are wonderful and I'm still working with them. But I have so many novels, I'll need more publishers. I look forward to connecting with all of you. "Believe. Receive. And be Grateful."
