Hi, everyone! Despite my fear of technology it's nice to be here (I think). A long-time New Yorker but originally from San Francisco, I've been composing classical music for what seems like eons now, as well as working in the musical theatre and film worlds. Playing in chamber music groups and in orchestras has also been a feature of my career thus far. Currently attempting to secure funding for a production of my opera "Meriwether" and putting what I hope are the finishing touches on a new chamber opera based on a Wilbur Daniel Steele short story, written for English soprano Jennifer Coleman. A recent fun event was working as music director/arranger with Mary Lahti on a production that happily just received the 2014 MAC award for début female solo cabaret show. www.jimlahti.com
